Dear Tita

Our son hates us. He tries his best to stay away from issues regarding family matters. He leaves when we try to talk to him about certain things that had to be discussed as a family. He only comes or calls when he needs something. We, on the other hand, try our hardest to be civil and patient with him.

What should we do?

*Dear Senior,*

It seems that this attitude is a very common problem among children.

Maybe they have problems with their own familes and work that consumes most of their time.

There are a lot of maybes to consider...but since he does not open up to you, you can suggest counseling for both parties or as individuals.

This will help resolve issues that needs to be addressed.

Counseling is now an accepted healthy alternative to better understand life and living. Counseling also maybe paid by your medical insurance. Call your provider. Counseling is good. Relieves stress and strengthens skills on understanding and communication.
